There is no doubt that until the arrival of

agitators from Canton, Wuchow was perfectly quiet and pesosful but as in many other places the orderly element has been unbalanced.

The Canton Strike Committees are now turning their attention to severing communication between Wuchow and Canton. The reason for this is very obscure, as the main source of food supply for Canton City is from Wachow and Kwangsi Province.

It would appear that General Wong at Wuchow is

strongly opposed to the authorities at Canton but is

compelled at present to adhere to their instructions. He is dependent at the present time on the Asiatio Petroleum

Company at Wuohow for fuel for transporting his troops and

for this reason deprecated the evacuation of the A.P.0. plant, from whom he makes purchases,

General Wong is a growing power in Kwangel and

it is probable that more will be heard of him later.

SHAMSHUI and KONGMIN. The boycott in both Shanshui and Kongman is very intense and supplies for the foreign communities in both places have to be sent up from Hong Kong in H. M,S, "Tung Kwong".

The places are quite peaceful but trade, communication, or inter course with any foreigner particularly British or Japanese, is strictly forbidden, and the culprit severely handled,
